I love this – apparently NASA is holding a vote to determine what the name of the next module of the International Space Station should be. The first two modules are called Unity and Harmony, and guess what the front-runner for the next section is! Serenity! You should totally head over there and cast your vote!

Thanks, Dad, for sharing this with me! And thanks Joss Whedon (and, y’know, NASA) for being SO awesome. : )

Well, ’serenity’ has the added advantage of, you know, rhyming.

If you want to go with the whole Firefly/Serenity theme, they should call it ‘Inara’. Think of the possibilities for the radio communication:
“Endeavour, You are go for docking with Inara.”
(in the background) “Alll riiight!!” ::snicker::
“Copy that, Houston. Standby for docking. (hand over mike) Hey! Guys! HEY! Zip your flightsuits back up!!”
..and after..
“Inara is coupled with the ISS. Repeat, Inara and ISS are coupled.” (in the background) “Cigarettes? You smuggled cigarettes.. are you nuts?! You’re sitting next to the O2 ta….” ::BOOM!::
But that’s just *my* opinion…
